The Department of Ambulatory Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital consists of the multidisciplinary staff of BJH Ambulatory Services including responsibility for the GI Labs, Minor Procedure Center, Pain Management Center, Diabetes Center, Resident Clinics, Wound / Ostomy Center and other services as assigned.
This department assures that all customers receive the highest level of attention and prompt, courteous service. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Director of Ambulatory Services Patient Care is responsible for directing staff and programs in the Ambulatory Services department as well as providing leadership and oversight to Ambulatory Clinical Managers.
Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to : onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed.
Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet / support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and / or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with Medical Directors and WUSM leaders while establishing dyad models of care.
Develop and implement clinical standards and guidelines for the department and its programs, including collaborating with physician leaders and patient experience team to meet patient experience targets.
Responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, quality care in all Ambulatory clinical areas by maintaining appropriate staffing models and staffing ratios and internal controls that impact regulatory compliance.
Effectively coach employees toward improved performance. Address problems by providing timely performance feedback on an ongoing basis.
Identify ways for further employee skill development. Monitor key performance indicators and quality metrics, and identify nursing-sensitive indicators for ambulatory services.
