The Role
Adobe Research is seeking a Research Scientist, with expertise in taking AI / ML Research all the way to productization, especially in AI Assistants and Agents.
Expertise as evidenced by a strong record of peer-reviewed academic publications, combined with hands-on research experience in applications of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and algorithms is desired.
The candidate should have demonstrated a track record of successfully taking research projects to completion and delivered customer value.
As a research scientist at Adobe, you will be joining a dynamic team of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer systems researchers to build the future of digital experiences.
You will have the opportunity to develop creative ideas suitable for academic publications, to mentor interns, and to participate in our university collaboration program.
You will also work with product teams to implement those ideas as advanced features in Adobe’s world-class products, thereby reaching millions of people worldwide.
What you'll do
Create the next generation of Assistants through automation to enhance productivity and help with generating and editing workflows to enhance creativity.
Evaluate and improve the pipeline and models in the middleware by learning from the user feedback.
Use your in-depth knowledge of LLMs and Multimodal models which can understand and generate modalities like images, videos, and natural language.
Bring hands-on development experience of applying research to shipping technologies.
Initiate the design, development, execution and implementation of technology through research projects.
Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Plan and execute applied research.
Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and contribute to scientific literature and conferences, lead the creation and development of intellectual property for Adobe through patent applications.
May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
Mentor juniors and interns.
What you'll need to succeed
PhD in Computer Science, EE, or an equivalent field and around 3+ years of experience in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
Strong peer-reviewed publication track record.
Solid programming skills including C++, Python, Java.
Desire to do world-class publishable research and develop advanced features for Adobe’s imaging, video, analytics, document, and enterprise products.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets.
The pay range for this position is $157,900 $284,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.
Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
