The AWS Global Sales Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to work closely with senior finance management and key Sales and Sales Operations partners to drive investment decisions, financial planning, and controllership for the AWS Sales organization.

This role will drive worldwide sales strategy and support business partners to understand the value of our efforts and efficiency of our field teams in working with customers.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of financial models and advanced analytical tools that aid in key decision making
  • Develop business insights and KPI dashboards
  • Present financial summaries and business insights to senior management
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management
  • Drive the financial planning / budgeting process
  • Establish actionable, routine metrics reporting and analytics for the AWS Global Sales (AGS) leadership

The successful candidate will have experience in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments.

This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

A Day in the Life

  • In this role, you will develop and scale new processes and mechanisms for field sales enablement. This includes detailed analysis on key pipeline metrics / health and input metrics that will help drive business outcomes.
  • You will have visibility to the AWS Global Sales Finance Director and support Field Sales Finance Directors.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples : SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples : Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
  • Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
