Tetra Tech is seeking experience AHERA / Asbestos Management Planners to support a long-term program in the City of Philadelphia.
Staff will be responsible for either conducting or directing 3-year AHERA re-inspections, 6-month surveillance surveys, data quality control, and sampling approvals for eventual publication.
The primary workspace will be at a client location within center-city Philadelphia as well as field visits to client facilities located throughout the City of Philadelphia.
Qualifications :
Minimum 1 year experience as a licensed AHERA Management Planner / Inspector along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Must be proficient in identifying and classifying potential and suspect asbestos containing materials, reviewing work completed by others, and be computer / tablet literate.
Must be proficient in quantifying and calculating quantities of building materials, developing sampling strategies and be highly proficient in providing expert advice on asbestos management.
Operation within established client frameworks, be flexible to rapidly changing work environments, and maintain the ability to operate in accordance with industry standards.
Desired skills in the ideal candidate include but are not limited to :
- Must be proficient with electronic forms of data management and using custom software after training to support client operations.
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check
- Must be intimate with AHERA regulations.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must be customer-service focused.
Education and Certifications :
A Bachelor's degree is desired, but not required. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, EPA AHERA Inspector / Management Planner and Philadelphia Asbestos Investigator license required.
Project Designer Certification highly desired.
Physical Demands :
Must be able to routinely climb stairs / ladders.
Work Environment :
The position's primary work environment is in client facilities in Center City Philadelphia.
The successful Applicant must be able to pass a Federal Criminal History Background Check, A Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Check, and a PA Dept.
of Public Welfare Child Abuse History check. Routine drug testing may be required for access to client locations.
