Salary : $17.00 to $18.50 / hour DOE
Part-Time Behavior Paraprofessional : After School Care Program
Under the supervision and direction of the Vocational Coach and Extracurricular Activities Coordinator; the Part-Time Behavior Paraprofessional provides assistance to classroom staff, performing a variety of tasks relating to the behavioral and instructional needs of students in a classroom setting.
Duties :
- Assists in the implementation of afterschool programs, including self-help and behavior management as well as overall instruction.
- Work as part of a team to support students in the afterschool program.
- Execute activities as directed by the Vocational Coach and Extracurricular Activities Coordinator. These may include supporting independent work, special projects, or supporting a small group.
- Assist with planning and preparing materials.
- Assist students in participating in routines, transitions, and self-care tasks as necessary.
- Follow tier-one behavioral supports and behavior plans as directed.
- Strong adherence to policies as outlined in the AZACS Employee Handbook.
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
- Work with students may include lifting, feeding, and other services.
- Other duties as assigned by the Managers and Directors.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Special education, behaviors experience, or after-school care : 1 year (preferred).
- Enthusiasm for best practices in autism education and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative in dealing with students, faculty, and the public.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Required :
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- High school diploma or equivalent
Benefits :

- Set hours (up to 16) : Monday - Thursday; Wednesdays mandatory
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday : 2 : 45 PM to 6 : 15 PM
- Wednesday : 11 : 30 AM to 5 : 30 PM

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Positions in this class require : stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work :
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions :
Work is routinely performed in an indoor and outdoor classroom setting.
