Job Description :

The Director of Sponsored Programs will provide oversight for multiple federally funded programs, assist faculty and staff with the preparation of external and internal grants, coordinate other faculty development efforts in conjunction with the Office of Academic Affairs, and supervise the Director of Distance Learning.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

Job Duties :

Managing direct reports including Director, Student Support Services (TRIO); Director, Talent Search / Upward Bound (TRIO);

the director of the Student Enrichment Center (Strengthening Institutions); and the Director of Distance Learning.

Ensuring federal compliance for all federally funded units, including budget and reporting

Provide support and oversight for budget, reporting, and grant renewal processes (as appropriate) for PIs of external grants.

Advise and support faculty and staff in the preparation of external and internal grant proposals

Write or assist in the writing of new university-wide grant proposals as needed

Assist the Office of Academic Affairs with new faculty orientation and onboarding

Coordinate other faculty development efforts, including those related to grant writing and Distance Education

Ensure federal compliance and SARA compliance for distance education programs, including licensure programs

Oversee process for quality control of distance education course work

Other duties as assigned.

Supervision : The Director of Sponsored Programs will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications :

Master’s degree

Experience with the writing or execution of federal grants

Demonstrated familiarity with policies and best practices related to distance learning

Experience coordinating or delivering faculty development activities

Three years supervisory experience in higher education or related field

Preferred Qualifications :

Five years supervisory experience in higher education with increasing responsibility

Successful grantsmanship

Salary Range : $70,500
