Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

Position Summary : Thisposition is responsible for assisting the football program with the recruitmentand retention of student-athletes while working to ensure the best studentexperience possible for the members of the Benedictine University FootballProgram.

Essential JobResponsibilities :

1. Assist the football programwith the identification and successful recruitment of qualified studentathletes to help place the program in a position of competitive leadership inthe Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

2. Responsible for coaching and mentoring aposition group as well as assisting with film breakdown, developing andimplementing scouting reports, game and practice plans, and coaching in alltraditional and non-traditional segments that will place the program in aposition of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics CollegiateConference.

3. Responsible for assisting the head coach, program, anduniversity personnel with the retention of student athletes. This includessocial and academic support, meeting regularly with the members of yourassigned position group to monitor their academic progress to ensure playersare investing the time and effort required to be successful in the classroom.

4. Provideinstruction in technique and safety procedures in adherence with NCAAregulations and Sports Performance expectations in the declared playing andpractice seasons.

OtherFunctions :

  • Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.
  • Adherence to all Benedictine University policies and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, administrative, planning and presentation skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Maintain a positive student athlete assessment program for student athletes.
  • Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate University events.
  • Serve on University, conference and national committees as needed.
  • Ability to attain goals through knowledge of regulation and accreditation requirements, as well as incorporate best practices into initiatives.
  • Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers and fans.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations and matters with diplomacy and superior judgment.
  • Ability to complete high-level analysis of data, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred

Experience : Previouscollegiate coaching and recruiting experience at the Division III levelpreferred. Previous coordinator experience desired.

Specific Skills : Organizationalskills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budgetmanagement skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.

Valid Driver’s Licenserequired. CPR / First Aid / AED certification required.

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications : Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy,recruitment, rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining a professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping.

Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun / heat or cold weather.

Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.

See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

General Customer service and office environment.

Travel (If applicable) : Yes - Ability to travelwith the team; for recruiting purposes and for professional development will berequired.

Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable) : Yes Student Workers if needed

Working Conditions : Office and outdoor environment. Nights andweekends are required.

Training : As a University employee you are requiredto complete all University-specific and / or OSHA related training to fulfillyour job duties.

Specific training will be conducted online or inperson. Employees must complete all trainings required byBenedictine University.
