We have an active consultant with this manager. They need another.
About the team : They patch systems / servers for security applications which are mission critical / never down applications (SSO and others).
They can teach the person about the applications but the person must have a solid Linux SA background.
Must haves :
Linux SA - mid level (6-7 years) - able to troubleshoot, patch and make changes (manually)
Scripting - Ansible would be great, but other scripting language ok
Detail oriented / focused - given they are patching mission critical applications, there cannot be mistakes (when the person is assigned a patching task, they will do only that task as to not be distracted)
Weekend work - this person must be ok with working Sat or Sun. Their schedule will be consistent but they'll work 1 day every weekend (so for example, will work Sunday - Thursday, off Friday and Saturday)
Bladelogic - nice to have have as it's the tool they use for patching, but the can train the person if they don't have this
Job Details :
This role will ensure best practice implementation and operations of patching and vulnerability management / remediation to ensure bank infrastructure is free from vulnerability threats.
Resource will be working with a team that is responsible for performing OS patching and software vulnerability remediation on mission critical applications that have zero downtime.
The resource will also be required to work with the application teams and engineering partners to build / modify the patching flow instruction documentation.
Resource will also be working with various other teams (SA, MW, DBA.,etc.) during the course of the patching exercise to resolve any issues.
Resource will be required to work weekend / afternoon shifts.
- Excellent knowledge of Linux / UNIX OS
- Experience with patching and vulnerability monitoring / remediation
- Familiarity with change and release management process
- Excellent written and oral communications skills with a proven track of taking initiative
- Must be willing to work weekends and afternoon shifts.
- Good knowledge on Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge / experience in Truesight (Bladelogic) is an added benefit
- Knowledge / experience in BLCli / NSH automation scripting is a plus
- Exhibits strong drive for results and success
- Persists in the face of significant difficulties, does not give up easily
- Is comfortable presenting and communicating with the SLT.
- Knowledge of TruSight (BladeLogic) and Project management is a plus.
