REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. REGENT is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to help with the development of REGENT's seagliders. You will learn practical skills and gain real world experience while working on the cutting edge of novel aerospace vehicle development.

Working on our systems engineering team, you will develop, perform, and document system-level and subsystem-level safety analyses and verification / validation tests for our prototype seagliders.

As an intern, you'll help with the verification and validation of various subsystems on our full-scale prototype along with ensuring the compliance of our requirements to external regulations.

This will involve working with engineers from multiple disciplines and learning about the different influences on our design requirements (business needs, safety analyses, industry standards and regulations) throughout the prototyping and productization processes.

You will be part of a small, multidisciplinary team at REGENT, but must be capable of working independently on assigned tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • As an intern, you may help to perform system and subsystem-level safety analyses, document requirements and verifications, and / or produce necessary artifacts for seaglider certification efforts.
  • This will involve working with engineers from multiple disciplines and learning about the different influences on our design requirements (business needs, safety analyses, industry standards and regulations) throughout the prototyping and productization processes.
  • You will be part of a small, multidisciplinary team at REGENT, but must be capable of working independently on assigned tasks

Required Qualifications and Skills :

  • At least 3rd year completed BS in Aerospace, Marine, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or Similar Field or enrollment in a Graduate SystemsEngineering program
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication, including technical documentation
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about solving problems
  • Adaptable and flexible with moving deadlines and tasking
  • Detail-oriented

Desired Qualifications and Skills :

  • Experience working on Safety Critical Systems & Systems Safety
  • Aerospace or Nautical Vehicle System Development
  • Requirements Development and / or Test Management
  • MBSE Experience
  • System-level Testing and Verification
  • Experience with Jama, Polarion, DOORS, or equivalent
  • Developing Risk-Based Analyses including Fault Trees (FTA), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Familiarity with ARP4761
  • Scripting Experience using Python and REST APIs
  • Technical Background in Aerodynamics, Hydrodynamics, Electrical Systems, or Controls
  • Flying, Boating, or Sailing Background or Interest Especially a Private Pilot's License
