Job Summary
The Cardiac Registered Nurse is a crucial asset in delivering comprehensive care to patients afflicted with cardiovascular disorders.
Their specialized training enables them to administer essential cardiac life support interventions such as CPR and defibrillation while offering vital support, education, and vigilant monitoring to those grappling with chronic cardiac ailments across all age demographics.
Collaborating closely with cardiologists, they provide direct assistance to patients facing acute or chronic cardiac conditions, conducting comprehensive assessments utilizing diagnostic modalities like stress tests, electrocardiograms, and vascular monitoring, alongside proficiently administering and removing cardiac catheterization equipment as per established protocols.
Additionally, they play a pivotal role in post-operative care, delivering meticulous pain management and attentive support to patients recovering from heart surgeries and pacemaker implants.
Through their unwavering commitment to excellence, Cardiac Registered Nurses significantly contribute to the holistic well-being and recovery of individuals battling cardiovascular illnesses.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer medications to patients as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct assessments of patients’ cardiac health and review patients’ medical histories.
- Perform physical examinations and analyze diagnostic test results.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and changes in symptoms.
- Administer and remove IV drips.
- Facilitate the operation and maintenance of cardiac catheterization equipment, including setup, calibration, and dismantling as per established protocols and safety standards.
- Track defibrillator use.
- Assist in various cardiac procedures, such as stress tests and electrocardiograms (ECGs).
- Participate in the placement and management of temporary pacemakers or defibrillators.
- Provide guidance and information to patients and their families about cardiac health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Respond to cardiac emergencies and perform life-saving interventions as needed.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from accredited university
Experience : At least three (3) years of healthcare experience, preferably as a Registered Nurse
