Construction Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for oversight of Payroll, A / P and A / R functions including billing and collections, month end close and reporting, WIP, budgeting, and cash flow reports.
The Accounting Manager will report to the President.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Provide Owner with financial information; prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, coordinate year-end financial close with outside CPA tax firm.
2. Oversight of A / P and A / R functions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments through Bill.com
3. Produce commission and bonus reports for sales and operations departments.
4. Full responsibility for month end duties, accruals, allocation of prepaid expenses, retention management, completing month end WIP adjustments, and review for accuracy to send to the bank and surety.
5. Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
6. Develop Accounting Department by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes, and implementing streamlined processes for efficiency.
7. Answer accounting and financial questions of other managers by researching and interpreting data.
8. Complete the budget each year. Responsible for forecasting, reporting month end to budget, and adjusting forecast to meet current needs and expectations.
9. Analyzing expenditures and forecasting cash flow to fund operations.
10. Work with bank(s) to secure / maintain line of credit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in construction, and 3 years supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and California certified payroll compliance requirements, construction invoicing including progress and AIA billing, and AP / AR management (full-cycle accounting).
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Premier Contractor Edition and MS Office Certifications.
- Ability to prioritize, handle a large volume of work, manage and train other department members, detail-oriented, produce accurate work requiring the same of others, and delegate tasks when appropriate.
- Previous experience with implementation of new software platforms desired.
Schedule Requirements : In office full-time, Monday-Friday
