The (USCSF) is a non-profit educational institution whose core purpose is to give the opportunity for survivors and witnesses to the Shoah the Genocide of the Jews to tell their own stories in their own words in audio-visual interviews, preserve their testimonies, and make them accessible for research and education for the betterment of humankind in perpetuity.

USCSF collections include testimonies about the Holocaust, as well as collections that reflect the primary interests of the Shoah Survivors who entrusted us with their memories, namely, collections that can lead to a world without genocide and a world without antisemitism.

The Institute preserves and provides access to the testimonies in the Visual History Archive, serving as custodians of the stories that have been entrusted to us by more than , individuals, whose stories from every continent and in over languages constitute an archive of unparalleled historical significance.

USC Shoah Foundation seeking a Archivist to assist in the planning and execution of global audio-visual testimony collections programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in identifying at risk testimony archives about the Holocaust, comfort with learning and adopting new technologies, and strong communication skills.

Familiarity with modern archives on antisemitism is also necessary. This is a full-time hybrid position. USC Shoah Foundation is based in Los Angeles, California.

Responsibilities :

  • Plans, administers, oversees and undertakes the appraisal of at risk collections of Holocaust survivor and witness testimony.
  • Identifies experiences to augment new interview acquisition by the USC Shoah Foundation.
  • Hires, oversees and trains interviewers.
  • Creates and edits Pre-Interview Questionnaires for various experience groups.
  • Serves as key public services liaison for archival collection(s) providing professional expertise in field and consultative services to patrons and / or consumers of education, instructional, photographic media and / or reference materials collection(s).
  • Oversees and undertakes maintenance and update of electronic database of holdings.
  • Supervises staff and student workers.

Qualifications include :

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s degree required
  • Strong demonstrated experience with the history of the Holocaust.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern antisemitism collections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work under tight deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.

Preferred Education : Master's degree Preferred Experience : 3 years Preferred Skills : Experience as an archivist or special collections curator.

Training and experience in conducting research in primary and secondary sources.Supervisory ability and experience.
