Under the general supervision of the Lead CT Lung Screening Coordinator and according to established policies and procedures, responsible for receiving / making calls, prescreening and confirming patient CT appointments.
Ensures that all collected data is entered into RIS accurately and completely.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reviews all scheduled appointments for CT Lung Screenings, CT Lung Screening Follow-ups, and CT Chests W / O at least two weeks out.
Requires ability to follow up on all pending cases.
Checks current days schedule periodically for add-on patients.
Obtain necessary documentation for all scheduled upcoming appointments.
Checks referral slips along with completed authorizations and informs Lead CT Lung Screening Coordinator of incorrectly scheduled exams, missing criteria, and incorrect authorizations.
Contact referring physician offices to request orders, for exam changes / new orders.
Contacts patients when needed for additional or updated information for patients scheduled CT exam.
Schedule, reschedule and cancel patients.
Assist with lung cancer screening tracking.
Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, patients' criteria and insurance guidelines for lung screenings.
Communicating with Lead Coordinator with any problems with
orders or patient accounts.
Coordinate with and volunteer assistance to reception and other personnel in areas outside primary areas of responsibility (i.
e., patient registration, patient scheduling, answering telephones, etc.) whenever lulls in technical duties occur.

Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and / or emotional stress, referring physicians, staff, and co-workers.
