SUMMARY

Contributes to the day-to-day operations of the Marketing and Communications Department which include but are not limited to providing graphic design services for internal and external corporate communication activities, maintain brand standard, and update content on internal and external communication mediums.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Implement communications strategies, programs, plans, and campaigns.
  • Establish and maintain brand standards across applicable surfaces, objects, and spaces.
  • Design internal communications and documents to ensure a consistent visual identity for company communications and procedures.
  • Produce publication materials such as, brochures, fact sheets, and other materials as needed for individual customer communications strategy.
  • Consult across departments to uphold brand standards where applicable.
  • Create company literature, such as the Annual Report, GRTC Connector (employee newsletter), and technical documents.
  • Proofread, edit, and revise communications with a critical eye on how to properly marry text and graphics for a complete communication presentation.
  • Create and manage customer signage inventory, placement, and design (at stops, in buses).
  • Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material.
  • Mark up and assemble final layouts or prepare layouts for printer.
  • Participate in the design and production of public timetables for various distribution platforms to customers (online, app, printed).
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally on public timetable deadlines for bookings (service updates).
  • Promote new services, current services, niche marketed services, and all aspects of electronic media.
  • Manage content of the GRTC Intranet consistent with internal branding, messaging, and news.
  • Implement social media strategies and perform social media community management duties.
  • Photograph presence of the company at events, conferences, speaking engagements, and projects.
  • Take photos and video in-house for communication or marketing needs. Edit to final.
  • Assists Development Team members as needed in various administrative duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Individual must be able to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects.
  • Individual must be proficient in design programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Flash, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Expertise with Macintosh and Windows based computers.
  • Portfolio required

Education and / or Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in marketing, visual communication and design, or related field preferred
  • One year marketing or project coordination and / or administrative experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Ability to complete projects on time
  • Knowledge of marketing concepts
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of basic graphic and web design
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills required
