Summary of Job Duties : This posting will fill multiple positions :
Under the direct supervision of the Department Business Administrator, the Pharmacy Technician (Patient Assistance Coordinator) will have responsibility for coordinating the pharmacy's financial assistance programs, with a primary focus on infusion drug assistance.
The employee in this position must demonstrate special skills, knowledge, and task completion not required by the other pharmacy technicians.
The programs to be coordinated and monitored include, but are not limited to, Infusion drug assistance, PAPs (free drug), MAP (Medication Assistance Program), and AKDC (Arkansas Kidney Disease Commission).
This position will support operations ensuring patients receive the lowest out of pocket expense possible utilizing assistance from various programs and manufacturers.
This includes, but is not limited to, researching data, working with Outpatient clinic staff, connecting patients with appropriate assistance, assisting in applications, processing prescriptions, communicating with billing, and patient follow up.
The Pharmacy Technician will work with pharmacy leadership to maintain and improve program workflows and expansion. In addition to these duties, they may perform the duties of the Pharmacy Technician I / II / III / IV, including assisting the pharmacists in day-to-day operations, patient outreach, medication delivery and other facets of patient care.
The Pharmacy Technician will prioritize work based on immediate need and rapidly changing workload. They will work as a team member to perform day-to-day work efficiently and accurately, along with any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals.Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
Level I :
Pharmacy technician license through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure.
Level II :
Two (2) years of pharmacy technician work experience
Pharmacy technician license through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure.
Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB)
Level III :
Three (3) years of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail setting
Pharmacy Technician License through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) issued by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Level IV :
Four(4) years of pharmacy technician experience or Bachelors Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Focuses on providing copay assistance and free drug to infusion patients, as well as assists with other efforts within the pharmacy copay assistance programs
Monitors work queues within the EPIC platform to identify patient need for assistance
Collaborates with other staff to expand efforts and organize workflow Works with manufacturer patient assistance programs and utilizes platforms needed to apply for assistance
Develops and maintains reporting metrics needed to track productivity for copay assistance
Assists with adjudicating medication fills and refills
Works with clinic staff and billing to obtain PAs and EOBs as necessary
Has exceptional understating of EPIC Willow Ambulatory / Hyperspace and how to navigate
Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations
Research patient data and previous fills
Performs regularly scheduled and organized follow ups with patients to ensure active and timely copay assistance
Communicates professionally and efficiently with patients and other department staff
Troubleshoots and communicates with billing
Maintains appropriate records and paperwork, electronic and / or paper

Monitors and submits monthly AKDC claims in a timely manner
