QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma or GED with four (4) years of work experience in a child-caring institution. Two (2)years of college and 2 years of experience in a child-caring institution.
Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of work experience in a child-caring institution. A Bachelor’s Degree in a social or behavioral science field is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in therapeutic setting(s) supporting individuals with a dual diagnosis of developmental disabilities and psychiatric disorder(s) required.
Must be at least 21 years of age. Demonstrates an ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems. Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain self composure / self-control in times of high stress or when others are excited
SUPERVISION : This job reports to the Program Coordinator and does have direct reports.
POSITION PHILOSOPHY : The Program Manager has responsibility for the overall operations of their assigned program(s). Leading a team of Direct Support Professionals assures day-to-day operations run smoothly, assigned staff receive redirection, training necessary to ensure each student / client is afforded the ability to excel according to their individualized care program.
Collaborates with the Program Coordinator and Case Coordinator in the design, development, and implementation of milieu treatment.
Provides the organization, communication, and coordination functions necessary to achieve Individual, Team and Company goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LISTED BUT NOT LIMITED TO :
- Coordinates daily routines and activities for the assigned site, coordinates individual and general treatment programs.
- Provides supervision, coaching, modeling, engagement, and support of students in living, activity, school and community settings.
Instructs, organizes, and assists students with carrying out daily living activities, recreational activities, developing self-care skills (health / hygiene), learning and practicing social and peer interaction, community interaction and coping skills, budgeting for small personal expenditures, and schoolwork and / or homework.
- Conducts team meetings, facilitates treatment discussion, assures team meeting minutes are completed thoroughly, distributed and posted on SharePoint.
- Provides coaching, training, feedback regarding performance, conduct, and attendance. Conducts no less than monthly meetings with employees directly supervised to discuss staff progress and concerns, and team related topics.
- Meets regularly with designated Program Coordinator to discuss topics related to students, employees, team, and agency.
- Participates in medication reviews, providing behavioral observation to assist with assessment of current medications.
- Creates, maintains, and posts staff schedules to ensure appropriate levels of student supervision in accordance with agency guidelines.
Complies with on-call procedures related to staff attendance providing coverage as needed.
In partnership with Program Coordinator, performs human resource management and payroll processing functions for direct reports including interviewing and selection;
orientation, training and performance monitoring and evaluations; coaching, counseling and corrective action and resolution of employee concerns.
Monitors overtime. Maintains clear, objective documentation. Supports staff in their professional development.
Completes identified portion of the Individual Treatment Plan (ITP). Supports and implements agency and individual treatment approaches for students as identified in the Individual Treatment Plans (ITP), Individual Education Plans (IEP) and as established by the treatment team.
Attends or identifies someone to attend treatment plan reviews, providing information on activities of daily living.
