Buyer (Level II)
Contract Duration : 6 months
On Site in Alameda, CA 5 days per week
This position is paying between $40-$45 / hourly (W2)
Duties include finding and evaluating potential partners and suppliers, leading or assisting in negotiation of all key terms and conditions as well as pricing, managing commercial and supply chain issues, identifying and executing on cost reduction opportunities, and overall management of third party relationships across various categories of spend.
What You’ll Do
Support various departments (Battery engineering, commercialization, research..etc) in their small- to midsize-procurement of diverse products and services.
Support and inform internal stakeholders with respect to supplier selection and management.
Manage the supplier onboarding process to ensure suppliers are correctly onboarded into Coupa and ERP systems.
Ensure all purchases are made following the purchasing policies guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Follow up with suppliers regarding purchase order status,
Negotiate the cost and other terms and conditions of such purchases by
collaborating with the stakeholders and legal team.
Responsible for utilizing the Coupa platform to facilitate the procurement process
including creating free text PR, punchout catalog PR, managing purchase order, invoice / payment, onboard new suppliers and master data management.
Skills And Qualifications
2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or related experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in procurement, project
management, or a relevant role.
Knowledge and comprehension of end-to-end procurement processes and best
practices. ERP or P2P experience preferred (Coupa, SAGE X3 or other).
Understanding of procurement principles
Highly organizational skills to effectively manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional internal
customers.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives.
