Plans, directs and coordinates the day-to-day Human Resources activities and staff of an organization. TheHR Manager is responsible for administering compensation and benefits, developing and enforcing policies,coordinating safety programs, and maintaining employment records.
Essential Job Functions Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting andadministering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs andensure compliance with legal requirements Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity andsexual harassment, and recommend needed changes Perform staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, terminatingemployees, and administering disciplinary procedures Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizationalobjectives Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating toemployment, compensation, and employee relations Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel, training, or labor relations activities ofan organization Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety andrecreation programs Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, workingconditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems anddevelop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices Maintain records within HRIS and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related datasuch as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates Analyze training needs to design employee development, language training and health and safetyprograms Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs Study legislation to assess industry trends Allocate human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel Develop or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, savings bond programs, daycare, and employee awardsMinimum Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent professional experience 5+ years of experience in HR with specific experience in management PHR / SPHR certification preferred Proficient in Microsoft applications Strong written and oral communication, teamwork and presentation skills Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training,compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resourceallocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordinationof people and resources Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spellingof words, rules of composition, and grammar Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
