Minimum 1+ years nursing experience required.
ProCare Therapy is actively seeking a School Nurse. The selected candidate should be an RN, with preference given to those holding a CSN (Certified School Nurse) qualification or an RN with ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) medical review qualifications.
This role involves managing the health and well-being of approximately 20-30 students.
Duties Include :
- Administering and managing medications, including oral, inhaled, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections, with detailed documentation.
- Care for students with Type 1 diabetes and maintain detailed records.
- Provide general first aid to students and staff and maintain records.
- Possess CPR / AED certification and maintain relevant documentation.
- Manage stock rescue medications (albuterol and epinephrine).
- Engage in effective parent communication and maintain records.
- Deliver health education and training to both students and staff, with proper documentation.
- Manage cases of communicable diseases.
- Oversee 504 Plan case management and conduct IEP medical reviews.
- Verify vaccination records.
- Maintain lists for food allergies and medical conditions.
- Follow up on student illness / injury absences.
- Perform Covid rapid testing and maintain documentation.
- Manage Covid cases and communication.
- Prepare medication and first aid supplies for field trips and after-school sports.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the health office.
- Manage health office supplies.
Pay Rate : $40 - $45 per hour (dependent on experience, credentials, and budget)
Requirements :
- RN qualification
- Preferred qualifications : CSN (Certified School Nurse) or RN with ISBE medical review qualifications and specified IEP Designation on their Professional Educator License (PEL).
