Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Emergency Services Counselor .
Minimum of years of experience required.
This is a FULL TIME and PART TIME / LONG TERM TEMP (TUES through SAT 4PM to 12 : 30AM and 12AM to 8 : 30AM and SUN through THURS 4PM to 12 : 30AM and 12AM to 8 : 30AM) positions located in Norfolk, VA (23503).
Responsibilities :
A Day in the life of an Emergency Services Counselor :
The primary objectives are to assess individuals in crisis to provide or link the individual and / or significant others with needed mental health services in the least restrictive setting, thus diverting individuals when possible from State Hospital care to community based care.
Requirements for the Emergency Services Counselor :
- Required : Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, nursing, or a related human services field
- Required : 2 years of experience in directly providing mental health services.
- Required : CPR certified or certifiable
- Required : Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Required : Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
- Required : Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
- Required : Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications for the Emergency Services Counselor :
- Preferred : Mental Health experience
- Preferred : Crisis experience
- Preferred : LPC or LCSW or LCP
Benefits :
- $32 an hour for licensed candidates and $28 for non-licensed
- Weekly Pay
