Laborer

Clearance Requirement : Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret ClearanceTravel Requirements : NoneLocation : Philadelphia, PA SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for a Laborer to support work at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCP).

The Laborer will support a test site to support Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) system research, development, testing, prototype evaluation, and in-service engineering support.

Specifically, supporting a program to provide industrial services for test sites, equipment removal / relocation services, and maintenance services for various systems and equipment for the DDG-51, FFG-62 and DDG(X) Land Base Engineering Sites.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following : Fill requisitions, work orders, and / or requests for materials and distribute items to designated personnel.

Load, unload, and check in materials. Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.

Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Open bales, crates, and other containers and mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method. Electronically record amount of materials or items received or distributed.

Assist with counting of physical inventory. Prepare parcels for mailing. Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience : High school, GED, trade, industrial school, or apprenticeship graduate.

Perform tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.

Ability to perform the following : Load and unload trucks, and other conveyances.o Move supplies and materials to proper location.

o Stack materials for storage or binning.o Collect refused and salvageable materials. The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of any of the following : Employment history;

Education and / or certifications; Criminal history; Driving Records; Other records or information related to the candidate’s suitability for the position.
