General Information

Beds : 260-280; Daily census 250-260

Patient Types : Highly Progressive / Acute Respiratory Care - Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care, Neonatal Critical Care, and general inpatient respiratory care

Busy, fast-paced department

Support on the Unit : Charge RT / Respiratory Clinical Specialist 24 / 7, Supervisors, Manager, Director

Charting System : EPIC (required)

Equipment : Ventilators : Draeger V500 and Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Servo-I MRI, Hamilton C1, ResMed APAP, CPAP, Bi-level, Airvo2 High flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 Blood gas machines, IPV, Praxair iNO

Floating : RT Coverage throughout hospital and ED

Orientation : Rapid City Hospital, Respiratory Care Department

Job Requirements

Registered Respiratory Therapist – RRT required

South Dakota RCP License (SDBMOE.gov) – prior to submittal – takes 30 days

BLS, ACLS

AA Degree

Critical Care, General respiratory care experience

Schedule Information

Weekend rotation : Every other

Home Health Call : every other week - Business hours are 0800-1730, call hours are 1730-0800 and weekends / holidays

Spearfish : 1am-6am – 3 days per week

Holiday Expectations : Work on holidays that fall within contract dates

Approval of time off? up to 7 days, must extend contract if taking a full week off; no RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally – first 3 weeks of August
