Entry-Level Coastal or Civil Engineer - Marine Structures
CPE is a multidisciplined coastal consulting firm with a national presence and a flourishing coastal and marine engineering practice.
We are pleased to announce an immediate opening in our Destin, FL office for a Jr. to mid-level Engineer to assist with the growing demand for our marine structural engineering projects.
This position offers tremendous growth and career development potential for a passionate engineer. The candidate will report to our Sr.
Marine Engineer and have the opportunity to work on a variety of coastal and marine projects, concentrating on marinas, waterfront structures, and coastal structures.
Duties Responsibilities
- Organize and interpret engineering data to perform coastal engineering analyses, designs and prepare clear and concise engineering reports and technical documentation.
- Assist in preparing project construction plans and specifications.
- Assist in obtaining State and Federal project permits and perform permit compliance.
- Perform project construction observations, interpret contract documents, enforce contract specifications, and review submittals for accuracy, completeness, and design consistency.
- Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards.
- Communicate with co-workers, clients, subconsultants and the public in a professional manner through verbal and written correspondence.
- Other work activities include assisting in proposal efforts, preparation of labor / material estimates, design packages and deliverables, documenting technical data for management review and performing other consulting duties.
Representative projects :
- Marinas, small-craft harbors, waterfront developments, and marina related amenities.
- Coastal and marine structures such as bulkheads, seawalls, revetments, docks, marine travel lift / forklift launch, breakwaters, and piers.
- Upland civil engineering design associated with parks and marinas.
- Coastal structures such as jetties, breakwaters, groins.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in civil, ocean, structural, or related engineering discipline.
- Experience in the analysis and design of coastal structures, foundations, and pile-supported structures.
- Experience with structural analysis software.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Proficient English communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to legally work in the US (US Citizen or Work Visa).
Additional Desired Qualifications :
- Master's degree in civil, ocean, structural, or related engineering discipline.
- EIT certification.
- Publications, conference presentations and / or graduate thesis focused on marine engineering design concepts and projects.
