Senior Manufacturing Engineer
POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer shall support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily product support;
project manage key programs; technical authority in metal processes; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.
and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.
Principal Activities
- Based on requirements from customer orders, plan sequences of operations for fabrication and assembly of products.
- Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible to available machines.
- Specifies, design and / or procures special tooling or equipment required to attain product per customer requirement within budgeted cost and time.
- Programs CNC machines to effectively and efficiently product desired product.
- Analyze and resole fabrication and tooling issues to avoid problems.
- Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings used CAD methodology.
- Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times.
- Complies with all company policies / procedures.
- Complies with all military and contractual requirements.
- All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements :
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Extension machining background in the production of close tolerance highly precision products involving various types of metal allows.
CAD / CAM experience with exposure in working with NX, Solid Works or Master Cam preferred.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Masters of Science in Engineering a plus.
- Strong metal processing background, i.e., Heat Treating, Surface Finishing, Forging, Casting, etc.
- Strong Project Management Skills.
- Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, Solidworks, CATIA and other applicable tools.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in a group problem solving situations;
- presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention; displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment;
supports and explains reasoning for decisions includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting and technology. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively routine reports, correspondence, and designs work flows and procedures.
Presents numerical data effectively.
Demonstrated aptitude for process improvement and use of Lean and Six-Sigma resources and tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) with 7-10 years' experience, or 13 years of equivalent experience considered
- 10+ years of hands on manufacturing experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment with high mix / low to mid volume product rates.
