JOB SUMMARY : The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall administration of the branch, both lending and operations.
Operations area of the branch includes New Accounts, Customer Service, and Teller Functions and Safe Deposit Box Area, if applicable.
Lending includes taking loan applications, processing credit reports, taking care of the loan from start to finish.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Responsible for the review of overall branch operations.
- Develop and maintain lending relationships within the market area.
- Proficiency in retail lending.
- Cross-selling skills and promotion of bank products.
- Coordinates with Human Resources regarding additional staffing.
- Responsible for training new employees.
- Responsible for employee scheduling.
- Coordinates with Cashier / Assistant Cashier and / or Operations Officer on operational issues.
- Responsible for managing operational performance and provide leadership, performance measurement / standards for branch personnel.
- Supports the Companys overall mission, standards, policies and procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Assists with customer service, new account and teller related issues.
- Handles and resolves the most difficult customer complaints and issues.
- Reviews deposit transactions and daily kiting reports for potential kiting schemes.
- Reviews deposit transactions for placement of holds as permitted under Reg. CC.
- Reviews deposit transactions for suspicious activity, (large cash deposits, new accts, etc.)
- Coordinates and monitors operational personnels (Teller, New Accounts, CSR) system usage / activity.
- Ensures that currency and coin requirements, limitations, regulations and provisions are maintained.
- Assists tellers in locating outages, reconcilement of cash drawers when necessary and review teller outages and corrections.
- Researches and resolves internal and customer-related issues for the branch regarding the system.
- Recommends changes to policies and procedures when applicable.
- Expands customer base through selling and cross-selling techniques.
- Responsible for quarterly cash box audits.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participates in a wide variety of special projects and reports as requested.
- Carries out duties assigned by management as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelors degree in a business-related field and / or 5+ years of equivalent combination of education, training and banking experience.
- 5+ years of professional banking experience.
- NMLS license or ability to obtain one withing 60 days.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- 5 + years of banking managerial experience.
- 1+ year of Lending experience.
- 1 + year of Branch manager experience.
- 1+ year of conducting employee reviews.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good presentation skills; able to prepare and present complex issues clearly.
- Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with a wide range of individuals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
- Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds of computer equipment, paper supplies, and coin / currency.)
