Job Summary :
A Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals in providing patient care services.
They play a vital role in the smooth functioning of medical offices, clinics, and hospitals. This position requires a mix of administrative and clinical tasks that are critical to ensuring that quality patient care is provided.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Greeting patients and escorting them to the exam rooms
2. Monitoring and recording vital signs of patients
3. Performing lab tests such as blood draws, urine tests, or EKG's
4. Assisting patients in completing medical history and insurance forms
5. Cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment
6. Maintaining patient records and documentation in electronic medical record (EMR)
7. Updating and maintaining inventory of supplies and medications
8. Assisting physicians with patient examinations and procedures
9. Communicating effectively with patients and families to provide education, instructions, and interpretation of medical information.
Requirements :
1. High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant certifications in medical assistant education
2. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry
3. Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (training available)
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while adhering to established protocols and procedures
8. Team player attitude with a customer service-oriented mindset.
