Greeter PT Martoranos

Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining the reservation book, taking reservations over the phone, and obtaining reservations from the telephone voice mail.

Ensures excellent guest service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

• Answers phones, the phone should not ring more than three times.
• Greets all guests entering Martorano’s and bids guest farewell and thanks them for choosing Martorano’s.
• Shows the guest, at a comfortable pace WITH them, to their table.
• Pulls out chairs, starting with women first.
• Gives a quality assurance, for example Enjoy your dinner.
• Introduces server when seating guest.
• Follows company standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting with the proper verbiage : Good morning, afternoon, or evening, thank you, ma’am or sir, may I?
• Informs the server of special requests, celebrations or time constraints, using approved methods.
• Follows approved check transfer policy.
• Performs opening and closing procedures as defined.
• Provides the kitchen and management with a breakdown of large parties throughout the meal period as necessary.
• Performs any mailing, posting, mailing list, and projects given them by the manager on duty as time permits.
• Pays particular attention to all tables which will be seated, making sure that the table is properly set before seating.
• Ensures that all menus and wine lists are in good shape, wiped and presentable to the guest.
• Posting daily floor plans.
• Stocking supplies (ie : matches, business cards, toothpicks, etc)
• Adheres to proper sanitation procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness, stocking, sale and appearance of retail items and restaurant entrance.
• Maintains Martorano’s uniform in good condition and reports to work in authorized uniform as mandated by Martorano’s. This includes maintaining a clean and well groomed appearance in compliance with Martorano’s dress code standards
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• 1 year of experience in a bar, lounge, or full service restaurant.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Being able to effectively maintain working relationships with staff and other departments.
• Full knowledge and understanding of Martorano’s rules, policies and procedures.
• Must possess the disposition to have fun at work and display that spirit to our guests. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
