This position would supplement the OSP Engineering Department with regular Field Engineering requirements while maintaining project completion guidelines for yearly facility build-outs, line extensions, and general maintenance.
This position would require significant time traveling to the job sites and in an office environment. The position requires developing accurate project plans, managing projects from inception to completion, and ensuring efficiency and completion on time and within budget.
Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and construction contractors as necessary to guarantee project deadlines and commitments are met on time.
Travel to job sites to document ongoing job status updates and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise. Ensure projects are maintained in project tracking system and completed and closed accurately.
Primary duties will be installation and repair for our fixed wireless customers served by the Wi Valley network. The workload will be approximately 80% TT response, with the remaining 20% consisting of new installations or other duties.
Within that 80% share, the expectation should be understood that trouble could be a last-mile connectivity issue, or possibly a network-related issue, due to a shortfall of one or more of the serving towers and or related network.
Excellent customer interaction skills are a must, as well as the ability to interact with Network Operations staff to isolate or resolve issues.
Skill Set : The best fit would be a person who has a comfortable knowledge of last-mile fixed wireless technology, along with working experience with Cambium unlicensed wireless hardware, and CBRS standards of practice.
A working knowledge of basic networking and WiFi routers along with hardwired ethernet cabling is a must. The technician will need to be able to work comfortably and safely at a rooftop-level height, from a ladder, or possibly even on a rooftop.
The use of small hand tools commonly used for service installation work. The ability to work at extended heights safely using a work platform lift, or a bucket truck, would be a plus.
A sound understanding of low voltage power systems such as 110VAC household current as well as low voltage DC levels found when working with POE wired systems.
Work Schedule : Available 7 : 30 am 4 : 00 pm, eastern time zone, ½ hour lunch. Some overtime is likely due to network needs.
