Position Overview

As a Welder / Pipefitter , you will be responsible for welding, cutting, soldering and brazing. You will use hand-held or remotely controlled equipment to join, repair, or cut metal parts and products.

You will be required to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to calculate dimensions and ensure parts are welded correctly.

This position is full time and reports to our Lincoln, RI office.

Essential Job Functions

• Primary welding for the construction, maintenance, and repair of pipeline systems
• Welding gas and pipe, duct work and hood installation
• Performs complex mechanical installations per engineering direction.
• Reads and comprehends construction drawings and specifications.
• Lays out and installs piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Works in conjunction with other crews and lead persons.
• Maintains responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned to the group.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 2 - 3 years of related work experience
• Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick Welding processes
• AWS Certification is preferred
• Journeyman Pipefitter licensed is preferred, but not required
• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
• Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress
• Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex issues in the field.
• Familiarity with local and national codes and regulations.

Working Conditions

Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
• Evening and / or early morning, and / or weekend / holiday hours periodically
• Will work both indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold to very hot and humid
