Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Learning Center is seeking a part time Assistant Teacher for the three-year old classroom.
Candidates should have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We are looking for individuals who enjoy engaging with small children in a christian environment.
We use a christian based curriculum and directed play based learning as we teach children the fundamentals.
The children in this classroom are potty trained, however, accidents do happen. You will be expected to show patience and encouragement as the children gain confidence in this important life skill.
Hours : 1pm - 6pm, Monday - Friday
PTO and company paid basic life insurance, short term / long term disability after 30 days. Company paid retirement contribution after 1-year.

It is the role of the assistant teacher to support activities that encourage a hands-on learning environment.
Duties :
- Assist in the planning of educational lessons and activities and engage with the children
- Actively play with the children in various settings, inside and outside
- Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for all children
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and provide individualized support as needed.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
- Report each child's attendance, progress, and behavior to Lead Teacher
- Assist in implementing behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and self-regulation skills
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to create a cohesive learning community
Skills :
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Experience in assisting in lesson planning for preschool-aged children
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be expected to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support positive behavior in the classroom
- Understanding of early intervention strategies for children with special needs or developmental delays
- Familiarity with physical education activities suitable for young children
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of each child
- Previous experience in childcare or preschool settings is highly desirable
You will be required to pass a background screening (fingerprinting)
HS Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age.
