- Provide evidence-based, cost-effective clinical services including assessment, behavioral interventions, consultation, emergency medications, M-1 holds and other involuntary treatments such as seclusion / restraints, somatic treatments, triage and other clinical services as needed. (40%)
- Obtains relevant medical histories, makes appropriate diagnoses, implements and directs effective psychiatric treatments including during high-risk and / or life-threatening conditions including during pregnancy and peri-partum periods, malignant catatonia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and serotonin syndrome. (20%)
- May provide clinical supervision for trainees and advanced practice providers as assigned. (10%)
- Provide services that are appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patient. (5%)
- Generate accurate and appropriate documentation of services in the medical record and write reports in a timely fashion. (15%)
- Participate and / or support academic efforts in research and in professional writing. (10%)
Education :
Doctorate Degree Graduate of an accredited medical school. Required
Work Experience : Licenses :
Licenses :
- MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required and
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS / CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents and behavioral interventions used in patient treatment.
- Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
- Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
- Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic / racial backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
- Performs in a tactful and professional manner under stressful and emotionally charged circumstances.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
- Epic experience preferred.
