Your role at Clorox :

As a R&D International Scientist II - Product / Process in Research & Development (R&D) for AMEA Glad business, you will be part of a team responsible for the technical development of Glad products across the entire AMEA markets (Asia, MENA, Europe & ANZ).

You will work with a global team of colleagues / copackers from different countries and different cultures. You will also develop products / claims / methods to deliver solutions that delight consumers in this broad market to drive our business.

You will also champion sustainability efforts to help business unit to achieve our goals.

In this role, you will :

  • Be the Product Development Lead for projects to ensure technical commitment is fulfilled on time.
  • Use established Clorox processes to delivery projects and identify potential improvements, and build the capability to utilize Clorox pilot resources for scale up activities.
  • Apply fundamental technical and processing knowledge from inside and outside resources to achieve project results within and across business units.
  • Lead the design and execute technical testing to converge on and validate product performance, including developing new test methods and demos with support as necessary.
  • Keep pace with development of technology in the industry and incorporate with business growth plan.
  • Determine and create consumer and customer facing specifications and processing standards to ensure stable product quality in the market.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and engineering teams to ensure consistent communication, successful start-ups, define any new capital requirement, influence future capabilities, and identify internal and external process improvements that deliver cost and / or efficiency savings.
  • Visit suppliers, Clorox factory and contract manufacturers to work with them closely to enable new product launch. Approx. 20 30% travel.
  • Leverage internal and external expertise as you tackle cutting edge technical problems. You will need a flexible (agile) mindset as you drive ideas from concept to development, quickly readying technologies and bringing products to market that delight the consumer.

What we look for :

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent number of years of relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in consumer products with a focus on Product or Process Development. Experience with high molecular polymer is an advantage.
  • Must be able to adapt to flexible working hours to accommodate team members in different time zones.
  • High energy, positive drive, and commitment in setting and meeting aggressive goals and enjoy working in a variety of cultures and settings.
  • Strong technical curiosity and creative problem-solving skill with a record of innovative technical solutions implemented within the business.
  • Proficiency in navigating IP and claims.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand scale up challenges and using innovative approaches to overcome those challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment, both internal and external to Clorox.
  • Ability to influence others, selling ideas to stakeholders and encouraging team direction.

Workplace type :

Hybrid : This individual will be required to go into the Clorox office 3 days a week, working 2 days remotely.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location.

The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

Zone A : $86,600 - $161,900 Zone B : $79,400 - $148,400 Zone C : $72,100 - $134,900

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
