Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director, KMCWR Marketing and Communications, the KMCWR Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support promoting the Division of Kennedy Mountain Campus, Wellness & Recreation (KMCWR) to students, faculty / staff, alumni, campus and community partners, donors, and the Denver and Northern Colorado community through the execution of the KMCWR marketing and communications plan.

Each facility within the KMCWR Division (James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus and Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness) will have a marketing and communications plan that is to be executed throughout each fiscal year to achieve division goals.

This position plays the key role in delivering and presenting the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness and the James C.

Kennedy Mountain Campus on-campus and at community promotions and events to obtain new leads, support of digital experience campaigns to obtain new leads (websites, social media, signage, photo and video, e-mail, text) and ensuring that the target audience journey leads to engagement and sales with our events, programs, and services at each facility.

Position will be required to work a varied schedule that will include nights and weekends.

Essential Functions

Promotions & Events

Design, implement, and execute the promotional opportunities and events of the marketing and communication plans to achieve our lead generation goals for the division.

Promotional opportunities and events include, but are not limited to : digital content development, on and off-campus event promotions, community promotions, and collaboration with partners and organizations.

  • Assist in outbound and inbound marketing activities and events by displaying expertise in certain areas such as events planning, advertising, optimization, and content development.
  • Coordinate the student street team to support promotional opportunities and events.
  • Track lead generation results to determine which tactics are most effective and should be continued or eliminated.

Digital Content and Execution

Assist in maintaining the content, design, and performance of division websites including, but not limited to, James C.

Kennedy Mountain Campus, Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness, WebTrac, and Communication Blogs.

  • Assist in maintaining WebTrac including management of online calendars, registration, and reservation system, designing and changing out banners for high registration periods, splash page maintenance, and menu maintenance.
  • Assist in maintaining the division digital content calendar and disseminating information across multiple KMCWR channels to expand brand visibility, reach, and engagement.
  • Assist in designing webpages that optimize both lead conversions and search engine relevance / quality scores.

Communication

  • Create communications through defined methods to generate leads to improve conversion rates.
  • Assist with the improvement of the performance of KMCWR’s communications channels, including the websites, email newsletters, social media channels, print publications, digital signage, text, blogs, and press releases.
  • Manage and monitor metrics of lead conversion rates.

Evaluation & Feedback

  • Coordinate the division survey calendar to ensure our facilities, programs, and services are evaluated.
  • Execute consistent student, customer, and employee surveys and compiles net promoter score, results, and feedback to improve facility, program, event, and service offerings.
  • Monitor media coverage, google alerts, social media outlets, and customer feedback to track mentions and public perception of KMCWR.
  • Conduct research to analyze competitive landscape, market trends and customer behavior and prepare reports by collecting, summarizing, and analyzing data.
  • Utilize evaluation and feedback data to better inform lead generation efforts for the division.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent oral / written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff is essential.
  • Detail orientated and highly organized.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Project management experience and time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously.

Being familiar with project management software is also an asset.

  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications, programs and features is a must with experience in web page development or graphic design.
  • Working knowledge of operating photography and videography devices, equipment, and software.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree.
  • One (1) year of experience in marketing, communications, or promotions.
  • One (1) year of management / supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience in marketing, communications, or web services.
  • One (1) years of management / supervisory experience.

Working Environment

  • The position is often attending on-campus and off-campus promotion opportunities and events.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is moderate.
  • Support and coverage for events and programs at unconventional hours.

Physical Activities

Often required to move about the campus and the community with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule

20 hrs / wk; variable-some nights & weekends expected.
