Overview
Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer. This is a Full-Time onsite role working Monday-Friday daylight hours. The Grand Rapids facility has approximately 170 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of Aerospace actuations & controls components, systems, and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,750.03 - $137,500.04 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Responsibilities
- Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across a diverse manufacturing environment using lean methodologies and best practices to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (Productivity) and Inventory (High 5 metrics).
- Lead Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), drive all ECIS (Eaton Continuous Improvement System) activities, and provide ECIS training throughout the facility.
- Be a key member of the plant team, reporting directly to the OPEX Manager.
- Utilize the Eaton Lean Six Sigma system to improve the facility's overall performance, deploying CI principles and processes.
- Lead the CI council for the site and drive sustainment of CI activities.
- Actively participate in High Performance Work Teams, including 8D and A3 corrective action teams, VSM activities, PFMEA teams, PROLaunch activities, strategic initiatives, and more.
- Manage the CI Event calendar to drive productivity improvements at the site.
- Engage the plant workforce and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Obtain LEAN tool certifications according to the functional roadmap.
- Assist in ELSS and OpA internal audits; follow up on implementation plans with Operational Leaders to ensure proper execution.
- Assist in documenting manufacturing processes and updating Standard Work, including implementation and use of hour-by-hour boards.
- Conduct layered process audits, including 5S and Standard Work audits throughout the facility.
- Assist in training employees on various LEAN tools.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills, including presenting 1-3 slides during monthly all-employee meetings and leading in-person training sessions; comfortable engaging diverse audiences across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
