Reports to : Chief Operating Officer

Supervises : Community Engagement Coordinator, Communications Manager, Early Childhood Coordinator, Contract Managers, Program Specialists, Data Support Coordinator, Research, Planning & Evaluation Coordinator

FLSA Status : Exempt

Pay Grade : 75 ($75,012.35 - $115,233.23)

Starting Salary Range : $75,012.35 - $95,122.79

General Description of Duties :

The Director of Program Operations directs, administers, and manages the Trust’s programmatic funding operations, evaluations, and staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and administer the annual program funding cycle, contract management, fund distribution, program monitoring and evaluation, needs assessment, and policy direction.
  • Direct the implementation of the Strategic Funding Plan.
  • Direct planning, monitoring, and evaluation process of funded organizations.
  • Direct the monitoring and performance review process of funded organizations / programs.
  • Participate in the development of the program budget, including the initial budget and mid-year review.
  • Direct the funding process, including the development of solicitation documents, bidding conferences, review and scoring, recommendations for awards, and orientation process for awarded contracts.
  • Direct the contracting process, including activities that ensure contract compliance.
  • Develop required forms and documentation for program contracting process, in accordance with program funding policies.
  • Direct the Trust’s program funding policies.
  • Manage and supervise program staff, responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff.
  • Supervise staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Coordinate collaborative opportunities with local / regional funding partners, as well as logistics and communication regarding meetings with other funders and any joint evaluations, when deemed appropriate by the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Represent the Trust externally when deemed appropriate by the Chief Operating Officer.

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in nonprofit management, public administration, social sciences, or related field.
  • Four years of related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of related college education and experience.

  • Extensive computer literacy, including MS Word, MS Publisher, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively and timely.

  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and understanding of the position, policies, and procedures required in the job.

Physical Demands :

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee regularly alternates between sitting for long periods of time when using a computer and keyboard;

physically moving around from department to department and out in the community. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • The workplace is a comfort-controlled open office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

When outside the office, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
