Job Description :

Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst - The Auto Club Group

What you will do :

Prepares in-depth financial analyses and research to support and facilitate timely management decisions and / or financial reports or statements.

Analyzes and evaluates financial implications of business decisions or transactions on financial results. Researches, evaluates and interprets financial data using advanced and emerging financial techniques and tools.

Develops and manipulates complex financial models for support and analysis of business initiatives. Works with departments to ensure an understanding of financial consequences resulting from various actions.

Provides support for internal and external auditors by preparing complex analytical schedules, responding to inquiries, researching issues and implementing recommended changes.

Develops, designs, tests and documents system changes or upgrades. Represents finance on corporate teams and initiatives.

Asset Control & Reporting

Provides support to various accounting activities including journal entries, analysis and reconciliation of complex, higher risk general ledger and bank accounts and / or bank accounting, variance explanations, etc.

Financial Reporting

Prepares complex journal entries, complex / higher risk account reconciliations and participates in month-end procedures.

Performs employee benefit accounting and reporting. Prepares and balances the insurance company Annual Statement supplemental schedules filed with the regulators.

Work Environment

This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership.

This is subject to change based on amendments and / or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.

How you will benefit :

This position will earn a competitive salary of $65,000 to $75,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

We're looking for candidates who :

II. Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.

Experience :

  • Experience as a Financial Analyst / Accountant or similar position
  • preparing and developing financial reports
  • using automated accounting and / or management reporting systems
  • preparing, analyzing and interpreting in-depth analyses of financial and or statistical data
  • model development and manipulation using Microsoft Office products
  • overseeing and guiding assigned individual deliverables to successful completion

Knowledge and Skills :

  • communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing
  • analyze complex financial data
  • demonstrate decision making and problem solving
  • derive actionable conclusions from analyzing data and information
  • participate on project teams
  • work independently
  • multi-task
  • work irregular or extended hours as required

Experience :

  • preparing high risk, complex account reconciliation and analysis
  • preparing high risk account analysis and general ledger account reconciliations
  • balancing of ledgers to supporting systems for high level, high risk processes
  • financial reporting (e.g. financial statement preparation, review and analysis)
  • applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and / or Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles
  • preparing complex journal entries

Preferred Qualifications

Experience :

  • 5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst / Accountant or similar position
  • experience using automated reconciliation software
  • knowledge of AAA products and services
  • experience in insurance accounting
  • experience in bank accounting
  • experience in mortgage / loan accounting
  • experience in insurance accounting
