General Summary of Position
The Environmental Assistant is responsible for cleaning all assigned areas in accordance with standards of cleanliness and highest quality of cleaning excellence.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Consistently gathers all trash.
- Polishes assigned floor surface areas by operating electric washing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and polishing equipment, making manual adjustments to attain optimal results.
- Performs other duties as required, such as cleaning light fixtures, wall vents, and moving furniture.
- Maintains cleaning equipment.
- Deposits refuse in specified collection areas and / or incinerator.
- Makes timely rounds and always follows universal precautions. Performs high dusting and low dusting of assigned areas.
- Uses 7 step cleaning process for all patient areas. This includes vacuuming, washing, sweeping, mopping of restrooms, beds, furniture and open areas.
- Cleans specialized areas such as isolation and surgical areas to highest standards according to sterilization procedures.
This position has a hiring range of $17.50 - $27.23
