A private organization in California is currently seeking a new Controller for a promising opportunity with their growing team.
In this role, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting operations for the organization.
Responsibilities :
The Controller will :
- Prepare / review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting
- Prepare / review audit schedules, tax reports, financial information, KPI’s, budgets, etc.
- Provide internal and external financial analysis and reporting as needed capital expenditures, cost / benefit projects, ROI analysis, special projects, and recommendations
- Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
- Assist in overall treasury management
- Prepare cash projections, manage cash flow planning process, and ensure funds availability
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the strategic plan
- Develop business plans and forecasts in collaboration with senior leadership
- Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets to monitor progress and present operational metrics internally and externally
- Assist in cash management and ensure compliance with the board approved investment policy and investment of short-term funds in accordance with established guidelines and practices
- Oversee accounting staff to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications :
- 5+ years of progressive Finance experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, & Finance
- Proficient in Database and Accounting computer application systems
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills :
- Auditing background
- Experience with Nonprofit sectors, Educational entities and / or independent schools
- Auditing background
- Experience with Blackbaud financial management software
