Assistant Controller - West Columbia, SC
Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our growing accounting team. This is a developmental role for the Controller position reporting directly to the Controller.
As a team, they will ensure that our accounting processes are reliable and comply with GAAP, FAR, and tax authorities as well as provide financial reporting for the CFO and company management.
The ideal candidate will be self-directed, inquisitive, and proactive.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day accounting activities.
- Monitor and review financial transactions.
- Assist the controller with month-end closings including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
- Assist with the annual financial, overhead, and 401K audits.
- Maintain the fixed asset system.
- Prepare annual business property tax returns.
- Perform the billing and project accounting functions as necessary.
- Maintain system configurations and security roles.
- Monitor and maintain internal control and accounting policies.
- Other accounting duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Experience with general ledger, billing, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting; project accounting is desired.
- Experience with FAR compliance is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and experience applying them in financial reporting and compliance is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.
- Experience with a comprehensive accounting system required - Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint experience is a plus.
Physical Demands
This position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking.
The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The ICE offices are open from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily.
