Undersupervision the Asbestos Hazard Investigator performs asbestoshazard assessments and inspections. This role involves managing andcoordinating asbestosrelated projects ensuring compliance withregulations and liaising with variousstakeholders.
Examples ofTypical Tasks
- Preparetask orders for inhouse asbestos abatementactivities.
- Supervise consultants in thepreparation of asbestos abatement scopes and designdocuments.
- Coordinate asbestos abatementprojects in conjunction with ongoing construction and / or renovationprojects.
- Act as a liaison with clientsregulatory agencies contractors and constructioninspectors.
- Maintain records and preparedetailed reports.
- In the absence of thesupervisor may temporarily assume theirresponsibilities.
QualificationRequirements
- Validcertification as a Certified Asbestos Investigator issued by theNew York City Department of Environmental Protection under LocalLaw 76 / 85 as amended.
- A baccalaureate degreefrom an accredited college in engineering architectureenvironmental health science or a related field and two years ofsatisfactory fulltime experience performing hazard / toxic substancesassessment and / or managing engineering or technical contractsrelated to such assessments.
- Alternativelyequivalent education and / or experience may be considered.Possession of a Professional Engineers License Registration as anArchitect Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified SafetyProfessional may substitute for the baccalaureatedegree.
- Must meet certain medicalrequirements.
LicenseRequirement
- Possessionof a Motor Vehicle Drivers License valid in the State of NewYork.
