A leader in the distribution industry is looking for an experienced Fleet Safety Manager to become part of our team.
Position Summary
The Fleet Safety Manager will oversee the creation, implementation, and management of a comprehensive fleet safety program to ensure our vehicles' secure and efficient operation.
This role requires a strategic, forward-thinking leader with a strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations and a successful history of introducing effective safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Create, implement, and manage an extensive fleet safety program compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop policies, procedures, and training materials that foster a safety culture and adherence to regulations.
Stay informed on local, state, and federal regulations concerning fleet safety, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
Conduct routine audits to assess the company's adherence to safety regulations and standards.
Develop and deliver driver training programs to improve driving skills and promote safe driving behaviors.
Provide continuous education sessions and performance feedback to drivers.
Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and establishing corrective measures.
Maintain detailed records of incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.
Work with the maintenance team to ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and meet safety standards.
Oversee vehicle inspection processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Utilize data analytics to track safety performance trends, identify areas for improvement, and enhance overall safety performance.
Prepare and present regular reports on key safety metrics and performance indicators.
Ensure safety policies and procedures are effectively communicated to all stakeholders, promoting understanding and compliance.
Organize regular safety meetings and training sessions for drivers and other relevant personnel.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Demonstrated experience in fleet safety management, ideally within a similar industry.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations..
Certification in fleet safety management (preferred)
