POSITION OVERVIEW

To provide technical quality engineering support to the Customer Quality Engineering team, at the point of manufacturing, in the containment, analysis, and corrective actions related to zero-mile and warranty returns from our customers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Investigate all manufacturing related customer returns using formal problem-solving tools, and documenting in CT+.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the problem-solving process, as necessary.
  • Clarify customer expectations and communicate to the appropriate manufacturing team.
  • Prioritize quality issues and projects to be executed by the manufacturing team.
  • Provide pulse of customers to the manufacturing team using various communication channels.
  • Identify and coordinate continuous improvement activities within the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Assess risk and validate process changes within the manufacturing process.
  • Drive product / process improvements as early as possible in the manufacturing process (value stream), to ensure greatest company benefit.
  • Communicate continuous improvement opportunities to product development teams for new product launches based on lessons learned from field concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING

  • 4+ years technical, quality or engineering-related degree and / or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least three years of automotive experience preferred with one year in quality.
  • Strong understanding of Gentex manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts, as well as manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with problem solving tools, CT+, and BI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
