JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Manager of Secondary Programming and Performance is responsible for providing secondary (6-12) curricular leadership across subject areas under the direction of the Sr.

Director of Curriculum through :

  • Studying, evaluating, and implementing innovative techniques & methods;
  • Providing leadership in the development, articulation & implementation of an exemplary curricular program and assessment;
  • Improving the instruction program through assisting with evaluation;
  • Assisting in the coordination of a positive staff development program;
  • Coordinating school to careers program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides coordination of the creation of a new high school model for CSUSA with several variations (Magnet charter model, comprehensive model and specialty model)
  • Provides coordination of the creation of a new academy model for 6-8 middle school levels incorporating career and technical tracks, industry certification and high school course offerings
  • Focuses on the closing the opportunity gap for students to access college-level courses in high school and earn college-credit in high school
  • Focuses on closing the opportunity gap for students to access high-school level courses in middle school and earn high-school credit in middle school
  • Collaborates with state directors and state directors of curriculum to improve acceleration across schools, states and national network
  • Coordinates with National Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction the Quest 0 process of master schedule analysis to improve programmatic offerings to align with the new academy model for 6-8 middle school and high school
  • Serves as a resource person in curriculum, instruction and assessment across subject areas at the secondary level
  • Provides leadership to assure correlation between curriculum and state / national standards
  • Develops, coordinates, and monitors the program of instruction for subject areas and oversees annual updates of curriculum guides.
  • Provides input for the curriculum and instruction budget.
  • Previews new instructional materials and arranges for piloting by teachers
  • Studies and evaluates new curriculum instruction and assessment techniques for possible use by classroom teachers
  • Assists in the evaluation of subject areas as designated
  • Arranges for staff development programs
  • Assists teaching staff with the implementation of new curriculum guides and new instructional materials
  • Assists in the selection of 6-12 instructional materials
  • Stays current in the particular field through professional readings, seminars, workshops, and conventions
  • Identifies and coordinates opportunities for professional growth for teachers; e., clinics, workshops, conferences, conventions, etc.
  • Develops and implements grant programs
  • Serves as liaison with post secondary institutions
  • Participates on various business, industry and post-secondary committees
  • Encourages curricular integration of general education and career & technical education
  • Coordinates School to Careers Program
  • Coordinates projects with other curriculum coordinators and administrators within the Division of Teaching & Learning.
  • Coordinate middle and high school course catalogs
  • Student information system liaison with technology

  • Detailed knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA's policy.
