Description
The Career Vocational Training Instructor, with minimal supervision, works in conjunction with the agency’s Director of Employment to develop and implement Career-Specific Vocational Training (CSVT) for persons with intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in the area of Janitorial Services and / or Food Service.
Responsibilities will include participating in the development of curriculum and classroom instruction. Training will be delivered in a small group setting with additional support provided as necessary.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and Implement training curriculum Work in conjunction with other member providers to develop and implement Career-Specific Vocational Training (CSVT) in the area of Janitorial Services and / or Food Service.
Create and follow lesson plans which allow for on-time completion of the training programProvide training to classes of 3-12 individuals with Sessions scheduling 2-5 hours per class, operating 1 to 4 days per week, totaling 75-100 hours of training to each class.
Facilitate community vocational experiences to incorporate hands-on skills experience for program participants, using locations and resources available
- Collaborate with Member Provider Participate in CSVT related meetings with member providers to assess program performance and ongoing needsWork with member providers to ensure eligible participants have access to the training programUtilize resources from other member providers and offer UCP resources to other providers as needed to enhance CSVT experiences for program participants
- Develop relationships with referral sources Offer informational presentations to eligible individuals, care coordinators, and vocational counselors who may refer to CSVTAssist with the assignment of trainingsFunction as liaison with other member providers to coordinate CSVT program and ensure efficient placement of referred individualsCoordinate all intake and admission for CSVT
- Maintain statistical data Develop and implement evaluation process to assess trainee performanceUtilize applicable data to adjust training program as needed to meet the needs of participantsCollect data on training participation, including but not limited to program completion rate and successful referrals to vocational services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma / GED required, Associates degree in human service field preferred.
- 1-year experience working with people with a developmental disability or mental health diagnosis required.
- One or more years of training presentation experience required.
- Position requires good verbal and written communicational skills, and public speaking skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate teamwork and professionalism.
- Basic word processing, power point, and e-mail skills are required.
