Xenon Arc is looking for a Data / BI Engineer who is excited to solve business challenges through the application of data science and analytics.

Essential Job Duties

• Lead data migration from legacy systems to SaaS products by developing SQL-based data scripts, conducting data audits, and serving as a key contact for internal teams and external clients throughout the migration process.
• Data Assessment : Evaluate data from multiple sources, Excel spreadsheets, SQL Server databases, and SaaS applications, to comprehend data structures, dependencies, and quality.
• Tool Utilization : Employ data migration tools and technologies to streamline migrations. This may involve the use of ETL tools, database migration services, AI, and custom scripts.
• Migration Planning : Create and carry out detailed migration plans, covering timelines, resource allocation, and risk management for diverse environments.
• Migration Execution : Perform data migrations from on-premises to cloud databases and between SaaS platforms, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
• Testing and Validation : Perform comprehensive testing and validation of migrated data to confirm its accuracy, consistency, and functionality in the target environment.

Address any issues encountered during the migration.

• Documentation : Keep thorough records of migration procedures, configurations, and outcomes. Deliver clear and detailed reports to stakeholders.
• Collaboration : Collaborate closely with IT teams, project managers, and vendors to ensure alignment with project objectives and technical requirements.

Offer technical support and guidance throughout the migration process.

Data Security : Ensure data migration processes follow security best practices and compliance standards. Implement safeguards to protect sensitive data during migration.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• 1+ years of professional experience in data migration, with hands-on experience
• Experience in data analytics and techniques, including proficiency in data visualization
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
• Experience working in Microsoft Azure environment is required
• Understanding of ETL and reverse ETL is a plus
• Critical thinking and attention to detail on the product that is developed

• Work Schedule : 4 days in office, 1 day work from home
