We strongly encourage all candidates of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to apply.A Brief Overview The Mental Health Therapist provides professional services to patients and families, which facilitates the use of individual, public and private resources so that optimal functioning can occur for both the patient and the family.

These core services include assessment of psychosocial functioning and capacities, counseling for care planning and decision-making, social work or counseling treatment and community resource planning.

Mental Health Therapists collaborate with many disciplines, programs, departments and organizations in the accomplishment of these duties.

What you will do Provides skilled psychosocial assessment and collaborates with care team in order to provide quality comprehensive mental health treatment to patients and families.

Evaluates the effectiveness of professional services and adjusts / redefines goals and modalities as indicated. Shares information regarding patient family situation with staff from other agencies and programs as appropriate in accordance with applicable confidentiality guidelines and relevant law.

Organizes workload and sets priorities based on patient care needs. Adheres to medical-legal reporting requirements. Completes documentation in a timely manner that is legible, clear and organized according to department, hospital and legal standards.

Provides leadership in identifying barriers to effective service delivery or problems in work assignments. Actively contributes in initiatives that improve service delivery through department, hospital or community based committees.

Recognizes professional strengths and areas for growth and is accountable for development and enhancement of professional practice skills.

Adheres to NASW, ACA. ASMFT, Code of Ethics, Department standards for continuing education, participation in professional home committees, meetings and available for cross-coverage assignments as needed.

Under the supervision of a licensed independent mental health therapist / practitioner Performs psychosocial assessment with patients and / or family.

Intervenes / treats patient and / or family-based on the psychosocial assessment providing age and developmentally appropriate counseling, treatment and resources as indicated.

Provide therapy with fidelity while demonstrating responsiveness to youth and family circumstances and appropriate treatment modalities Build rapport and trust with child and caregivers Provide appropriate level of therapeutic services and refer for additional level of care when appropriate Adheres to professional medical - legal reporting requirements.

Seeks appropriate supervision on risk management issues. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team in order to provide quality comprehensive treatment to patients and families Share information regarding patient-family situation with staff from other agencies and programs as appropriate in accordance with applicable confidentiality guidelines and relevant law.

Complete documentation in a timely manner that is legible, clear and organized according to department, hospital and legal standards.

Documentation to include tracking of therapy sessions, necessary clinical assessments, and progress notes Participate in routinely scheduled supervision Provides leadership in identifying barriers to effective service delivery or problems in work assignments.

Actively contributes in initiatives that improve service delivery through department, hospital or community based committees Provides administrative support for outreach, scheduling, and coordinating care for clients Education Qualifications Master's Degree Social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy Required Experience Qualifications Previous experience in a hospital, health organization or mental health agency setting Required Licenses and Certifications Licensed Social Worker (LSW) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - - Preferred or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - - Preferred or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - - PreferredTo carry out its mission, CHOP is committed to supporting the health of our patients, families, workforce, and global community.
