CAD Drafter
Met Weld International ("MWI") is seeking a Drafter to join the activities of its Engineering Department. This position reports to the Engineering Manager in our Altamont, NY facility.

MWI is a leading provider of engineered skid-mounted process systems and industrial controls for the power generation, oil & gas, nuclear, industrial and NavSea sectors.
For over 35 years, Met Weld has supported global industry with a full line of services and capabilities, including integrated design, engineering, manufacturing and fabrication.
Met Weld's manufacturing facility and Quality Assurance Programs deliver a controlled approach to each project and ensure the highest level of quality and service for our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs products such as engines, machines, instruments, controls, or robots.
- Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans.
- Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product.
- Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.
- Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design.
- Studies the test data and makes comparisons with similar designs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to be flexible, motivated, resourceful and organized in a multi-functional role.
- Solid communication, organization and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at varying stages of completion simultaneously.
- Prior experience interfacing with a quality management system, ISO9001, NQA-1, etc. a plus.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost estimating.
- Design Software : Inventor proficiency required.

S.C. 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
