Civil Engineer - Reliability

The Reliability Civil Engineer utilizes knowledge of engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to identify problems related to routine work and determine solutions within scope of prescribed methodology.
The Engineer will work in the process environment to analyze data, characterize problems, and work with cross functional teams to develop solutions.
Job Duties
- Design within the engineering discipline utilizing engineering feasibility studies
- Conduct economic analysis of projects and root cause failure analysis of equipment or structures
- Develop scopes of work for new, repair, or replacement of equipment utilizing engineering plans, schedules, and cost estimates
- Evaluate and select equipment and materials based on specifications
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and other departments within the refinery to finalize scopes and improve reliability
- Develop solutions to problems of limited scope and performing routine tasks related to a particular field of engineering
- Support various types of Capital Projects from conception through construction
- Develop scopes of work for maintenance projects to be performed during routine operation and unit shutdowns / turnarounds
- Implement all design changes within refinery specifications and in accordance with MOC

Minimum Qualifications :
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline, plus 5 years of civil / structural design, maintenance or reliability experience within a refinery, manufacturing / repair facility or engineering firm, required
- Candidate must possess the ability to communicate with all levels of management and possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
- PE License, highly preferred
- Experience with structural design and repairs, industrial structures, fireproofing, and equipment support repairs, highly preferred
- Experience with updating specifications according to applicable codes and standards, highly preferred
- Ability to maintain productivity without constant supervision
- Ability to learn and use various engineering design and analysis software
- Valid Driver's License required
Eligibility Requirements : The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.
Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.
