Job Title : Trade Surveillance Business Analyst

Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and analytical Trade Surveillance Business Analyst to join our compliance team in Charlotte, NC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing trade activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

This role requires a deep understanding of trade surveillance systems, market abuse patterns, and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Monitor trade activities using surveillance systems to detect potential market abuse, insider trading, and other irregular patterns.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into flagged activities and escalate confirmed incidents of market misconduct to compliance officers.
  • Work closely with the technology team to enhance surveillance tools and methodologies for detecting market abuse.
  • Analyze large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and new risks related to trading activities.
  • Draft and present reports on surveillance findings to senior management and regulatory bodies when necessary.
  • Stay abreast of changes in trading technology, market conditions, and regulatory requirements that may impact surveillance activities.
  • Collaborate with compliance, risk management, and trading teams to understand business processes and provide guidance on surveillance matters.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of surveillance procedures and policies.
  • Assist in the training of new team members and stakeholders on trade surveillance practices.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of training programs related to market conduct and trade surveillance.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade surveillance or a related compliance role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of trading systems, financial instruments, and market regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with a strong ability to interpret complex data.
  • Experience with surveillance software and technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
