University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) at Sacramento State is seeking an Applications Developer (AB 2370) for Office of Water Program.
Office of Water Programs (OWP) is an internationally recognized provider of training materials in a variety of media, as well as a source of engineering and scientific research that fills the niche between academia and consulting engineering.
Our team of nearly 50 professionals collaborates to produce high-caliber work that furthers our mission to provide cost-effective solutions for protecting and enhancing water resources, public health, and the environment through training, scientific research, and public education.
RATE OF PAY : $5,190 $7,785 per month

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
This is a full-time, temporary position that is covered under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. Continued employment in this position is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and / or work experience.
- Proficiency in web application development.
- Proficiency with HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Proficiency with relational database concepts (SQL Server preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, interpersonal skills, and skills to effectively function as part of a team.
- Ability to work well as part of a small development team.
- Demonstrated experience working with and maintaining sensitive, confidential information.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and see projects through to completion.
- Must pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with research environmental scientists.
- Experience working in state grant funded web application development projects.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position collaborates with the Information Technology (IT) and Research departments on various specialized application development projects.
Additionally, it provides support for the maintenance of the Office of Water Programs (OWP) website and internal data processing applications.
The position reports directly to and receives general supervision from the Associate Director of Research or their designee.
- Collaborates with applications developers and research engineers in the implementation of new software, often for web-based applications.
- Develops Full-Stack PHP web applications using OOP PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, and Foundation CSS.
- Designs and administers advanced SQL Server databases using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
- Develops T-SQL reports and PHP web interfaces to support environmental science research.
- Develops and maintains a Laravel PHP REST API Endpoint for integration with internal web applications.
- Maintains and troubleshoots existing Full-Stack PHP applications and SQL Server databases.
- May supervise undergraduate students.
- Undertakes additional programming projects as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
